Kalyan Kumar KV holds bachelors in Mechanical engineering from university of Mysore in 1988. 
Subsequently he got his masters in business management from Symbiosis, Pune.
Kalyan kumar has extensive experience of 25 years in automobile industry in the area of design and development of passenger cars and trucks. He was working with Mercedes-Benz R&D India, Bangalore for 13 years in various levels in leadership and served as Senior program manager in Passenger car development and as deputy Head of the department for Truck department.
Previously employed with TATA motors at Pune in Engineering Research Centre(ERC), was involved in TATA indica design and development. He also work with Government public sector Bharat Earthmovers Limited (BEML) in R&D division in Kolar Gold Fields. During his stay in BEML, he was involved in design and development of various construction equipments and earth moving equipments such as Wheel loaders and Hydraulic excavators.
Kalyan Kumar has stayed in Germany for more than 2 years in Mercedes-Benz technology centre in Sindelfingen, Germany has worked for various car programs. He also travelled extensively Japan and USA working for Mitshibishi Fuso Trucks, Chrysler Corporation and Freightliner trucks. He has good knowledge about German Culture and language due to his long stint in Germany.
Due to his passion for teaching, he is visiting faculty at Siddaganga Institute of Technology, Tumkur and MS Ramaiah Institute of Advanced Studies. He has life memberships at SAE (India) and Institute of Engineers (India), NAFEM (India) and others.
